The Myers and Applebys moved to Illinois in the early 1850s. Darius and Melissa were married in 1853, just over the border in Wisconsin. During the next 27 years the family lived in several locations. The "Rock House", the "Frame House", and finally the "Home Place". In May of 2009, Doris and Marta traveled to Pleasant Valley Township, Jo Daviess County, Illinois to see where their ancestors lived.
